Send, schedule or add an update to the newsletter

On the Review and send step, choose When:

• Add to next newsletter. This is the default. The update goes out with the next newsletter. It has no cost of its own. Use this for routine news.
• Send now. The update goes out within minutes.
• Schedule. Pick a date and time in the future.

Check the reach and the cost

The sidebar shows Estimated reach:

• The number of residents and a bar for each channel: Email, SMS, Phone and Mail.
• The number of mailpieces. People at the same address share one mailpiece.
• The Estimated cost, your Current balance and the Balance after send.

Each resident gets the update one time, by the lowest-cost channel that they allow.

Send it

1. Select the main button. Its label matches your choice, for example Send now to 1,240.
2. Read the dialog and confirm.
3. The portal asks you to confirm it's you. Enter the code.

If your role cannot send, the button says Submit for review. Read Review and approve updates.

What you can change later

• Send now. You cannot recall the update after you send it.
• Scheduled. Open the update and select Cancel schedule. The update is a draft again.
• In the newsletter. Open the update and select Remove from newsletter. You can do this until the newsletter starts to send.

Problems that stop a send

• "Add a title." or "Add the message."
• "Add alt text to every image."
• "Pick at least one topic." or "Choose where it applies."
• "Pick a send time in the future."
• "No residents would receive this. Change the topics or the area."
• "This update changed. Reload the page." Someone else changed it. Reload the page.

A balance below zero

If the send takes your balance below zero, you see "This send takes your balance below zero." Contact our sales team at sales@citizenloop.com to add funds.
