Getting started
What is Citizen Loop?
Citizen Loop helps your city send news to residents and hear back from them. You write an update one time. Citizen Loop finds the residents who want to hear about it. It sends the update by the way each resident chose.
The two parts of Citizen Loop
- The staff portal. City staff use the portal to write updates, run polls, read feedback and look up residents.
- Your resident site. Residents use this public site to sign up, pick topics, choose how to hear from you, answer polls and send feedback.
How residents hear from you
Residents can choose one or more of these ways:
- Text message
- Phone call. An automated voice reads the update and can answer questions about it.
- Mail. Letters go to "Current resident" at the home address.
Each resident also chooses topics and how often they want to hear from you. Their home address decides which local updates reach them.
What you can do in the portal
- Updates. Send news now, schedule it, or add it to the next newsletter.
- Newsletter. Routine updates go out together, one time each month or each quarter.
- Notices. Put dates such as meetings and closures on your public calendar and in the newsletter.
- Polls. Ask residents questions and see their answers.
- Feedback. Read and answer messages from residents.
- Citizens. Look up a resident to answer a question.
- Reports. See how many residents each message reached.
