Help a resident with their channels

Residents control their own subscriptions. Staff can help in a few ways from the Channels card on the profile.

Unsubscribe a channel

  1. Select Unsubscribe on the email, phone or mail row.
  2. Confirm. We stop sending messages there.

Only the resident can subscribe again.

Turn mail on or off

  • Turn on mail starts mail at once. The resident does not need to confirm. We send a welcome letter with a code for the household.
  • Turn off mail stops all mail to the resident.

Send a subscription prompt

Use this when a resident asks you to add their email or mobile number.

  1. Select Send a subscription prompt.
  2. Pick Email or Text message.
  3. Enter the email address or phone number. If your city's records already have one, you can pick Use that value.
  4. For a text, check The resident asked for this by phone or in person.
  5. Send the prompt.

The resident gets a link to confirm. Only the resident can confirm. The link works for 7 days.

If the resident already confirmed another value, we keep sending to the old one until they confirm the new one.

When a prompt does not arrive

For privacy, we do not tell you if we skip a prompt. We skip it when:

  • The person who owns the value said "This wasn't me" before.
  • Another resident already confirmed that value.
  • We already sent a prompt to that value in the last 6 hours, or 3 times today.

Limits

  • You cannot send a prompt for phone calls.
  • Text messages need texting to be on for your city. If it is off, you see "Text messages are off." Contact your account executive.
