Share poll results with residents
Residents want to know that their answers mattered. You can share the results in a newsletter. Sharing has no extra cost.
- Open the poll results. Select Share results.
- Check the Results summary. Citizen Loop builds it from the results. It shows totals only, with no names or comments.
- Write What the city is doing next. Say what was decided, what happens next and when. This field is required.
- Choose Who sees it:
- Everyone who was invited
- Only residents who responded
- Everyone following these topics, citywide. This needs a poll with topics.
- Choose to include the results chart and to thank residents who responded. Both are on by default.
- Select Add to … newsletter. If the poll is still open, select Queue for newsletter after close.
- The portal asks you to confirm it's you. Enter the code.
Where the results show
- In the newsletter, as its own item with the title "What you told us:" and the poll title.
- On the poll's public page, after the poll closes.
- Printed newsletters show the chart. Phone calls read the summary.
Privacy rules
- Written answers are never shared.
- A question with fewer than 5 answers shows "Too few answers to show".
Change or remove a share
Open Share results again. Select Save changes or Remove from newsletter. You can do this until the newsletter starts to send. A change to an approved newsletter means it needs approval again.
Each poll has one share.
