Updates and notices
Add notices and dates to know
A notice is a short item with a date or a link. For example: "Youth soccer registration opens". A notice never sends on its own. It shows in up to three places.
Where a notice shows
- Newsletter "Dates to know". Listed in the next newsletter for residents who follow the topics and live in the area.
- Public page calendar. Shows under Upcoming on your resident site, and in the calendar that residents can subscribe to.
- Related updates. Added as a "Coming up" line to updates on the same topics that you send within two weeks before the date. Only emails and letters show these lines.
Add a notice
- Select New notice at the top of the page.
- Fill in What's happening. Use up to 90 characters.
- You can add a Link.
- Set the Date. You can also set an end date and a time, for example "6:00 PM".
- Pick at least one topic. Citizen Loop suggests topics from the title.
- Choose Where: Citywide, a saved place or an area that you draw.
- Under Show it in, keep or clear each place.
- Select Save notice.
Find and change notices
Open Communications and select the Notices tab. The Upcoming and Past tabs list them. Select Edit to change one.
To delete a notice, open it and select Delete. It leaves the calendar, the newsletter and related updates. Messages that you already sent keep it.
Turn a notice into a full update
Select Make full update. Citizen Loop starts a draft update with the title, the topics, the date and the link. The notice stays.
Notices and an approved newsletter
If you add, change or delete a notice in the dates of an approved newsletter, the newsletter needs approval again.
